I'm Lauren Mazzarese...'99 grad of PHTS...and current Dialect Coach
for the 3rd Year Directing Projects...you can pick up cockney and RP
accent sheets form PHTS and they also have tapes of both accents.
What I always tell my actors is to watch movies with people who speak
the accent...the accent your looking for...its a bit tough...Kate
Winslet ACTUAL accent (not he ones she puts on) is perfect, as is
Gary Oldman's...if you can get them giving an interview maybe on a
DVD of one of their movies (a good one for Gary is Immortal Beloved -
two nice long interviews). What else...Spice World - Ginger and Baby
Spice - NOT Sporty or Scary...cheesy movie, but those two have the
right accent...

Then if you can watch any BBC...anyone with a cocknet accent that's
not too thick...
