Unofficial group to discuss the PICAXE, a new microcontroller system that exploits the unique characteristics of low cost 'FLASH' memory based microcontrollers. The power of the PICAXE system is its simplicitity. No programmer, eraser or complicated electronic system is required - the microcontroller is simply programmed via a direct cable connection to the computers serial port.

The PICAXE-28 provides 20 input/ouput pins - 8 outputs, 8 inputs and 4 analogue channels. The PICAXE-18 provides 13 input/output pins - 8 outputs and 5 inputs (3 analogue). The PICAXE-08 has 5 i/o pins that can be configured as desired. New 08M has twice the memory of the 08 and higher resolution A/D.
