I came up with some ideas about the gameboard that I like to go over
when we meetup next time.
Basically I looked at some ways to help make it easier to get started.
If anyone has some more ideas, feel free to mention them for the next
meeting.
As for the buildings, objects, that we can use for the gameboard, I was
thinking we could just recycle plastic covers/containers with some
obscure shapes(not just square) to to give it a unique look. I found
some already that was lying around at work that I'll bring to the next
meeting. Some are red, white and black plastic. We could always spray
paint them or add decals as we go along. If we could all keep an eye out
as you go out 'n about, keep in mind what can be recycled.
I have 1/4" masonite that's 22" x 31-1/4", there's 9 of them.
I'll have to dig up 3 more from work still.
That would make it almost a 8'x8' square, (7.3'x 8.3', close enough.)
with a 4x3 configuration.
We would have to make a Home Depot run to pickup some 2x4's (or smaller)
to build a table.
This time of year I'm told the wood is cheap due to the building season.
So we should get them soon, maybe at the next meetup.
Basically if we build 4 little tables, each 4'x4' with the legs
removable, it would still be modular and easy to transport.
And a set of brackets to build the tabletops to make it sturdy.
We would also need a set of brackets to hold the tables together while
the gameboard is setup.
The legs can be removable with a set of bolts .
Here's a basic list of materials.
--wood, 2"x4"x8' (or smaller)
--flat L brackets
--right angle L Brackets
--box of bolts/nuts/washers
--box of screws
--wood glue
I'll check on what quantities are needed by the next meeting.
If anyone has any supplies that they could donate, please let us know.
thanks!
