Dear MP3 friend,
I do have the same problem, my board was working well until I blown
the
87C52. I bought a new from PJRC and now after booting it
says "waiting
for the hard drive" and "experimental dev release" and the date of
the
release. It prints 15 to 20 seconds of dots and then loads from the
hard
drive. Plays a music and when I trie to change file it prints a lot
of
dots and then boots again. I checked the power and everything that
could
be checked. Please if you have a solution I would like to have it
too.
Thank you all.
Luis
Hi all,
I just hopped onto the PJRC site to get the latest CVS version of the mp3 player code after not updating it for about a year. However I've found that the Dave Gillham site is no longer providing the compiled code? Is the only way now to download the source code and compile it yourself??
Stirling
It cannot do encoding. It only has a mp3 decoder chip. There is no
encoder chip or hardware to accept audio in. Also, I think the FAT32
write code is listed as a 'should work'.

I want to use a MMC in my project. I want my AVR to open one ".wav" file which was saved via windows. I can reed and write to MMC but I can not do the job in FAT compatible format. I have seen a lot of projects in internet but I could not understand them.
So guys if you have a sample code witch works properly (AVR is prefered) would you please send it for me?
Does anyone have Kenny Lam contact details? He wrote most of the sample code on documentation CD. Thanks!

The ebay post refers to a website for a manual, and also packaging the
board with a configuration CD. Do you have either of this items? The
website address seems to be written on the board. What's that?

I bought a DIY MP3 Circuitboard (same as ebay item # 180149789480).
I'm struggling a little to get started. This web site
http://www.pjrc.com/tech/mp3/ looks like a different card. Can anyone
point me to a good source to help figure out how to set this up?
Thanks? Pat and Fiona

I am using the MC9S12UF32 Microcontroller and the STA013 decoder. Now I
realise that there's no interface between the two so how do I go about
designing the MCU/STA013 interface explicitely, possibly considering
the use of a MAX7000 series programmable logic chip.
I checked the datasheet for my Micro and it only has SCI interface, I
think it more RS-232. I need to connect the SCKR, SDI and data_req line
between the STA013 and the Micro. How do I go about designing and
creating the interface to make them "talk" in practical details?
Please can anyone help!!!
i want to design a mp3 circuit that can connected to external circuit
that control which track on the memory to play...
can somebody help me how to do this ?
thank
so, i want to change some stuff in the fpga. instead of using xilinx
3.1 (as suggested) i was able to get a copy of Xilinx 2.1. I would
like to make some changes to it...
but my most important question....
how do i load these changes back to the fpga chip???
any one know how this can be done??
thanks!!
I downloaded the latest firmware from CVS.
I connected a 160GB HD (3.5", FAT32) with about 8000 songs, several
directores...the HD is connected with external power supply, and
regular IDE cable. I do not have a SIM installed. The player loads up
to this:
...All the regular stuff and then...
FPGA Config. (OK)
Reset IDE
no SIM detected
Revision 0.1.3 (no SIM)
Mp3 Player, Begin Play
It gets stuck here... I press play from the LCD buttons, nothing
happens, I waited a little, and It just repeats the message endlessly.
no sound, nothing.
Anyone has had this happen before? Any ideas what it might be?

All of my changes have been committed into the CVS. I will have to look for my log files to see how many files I have on my drive. I used a 10G laptop drive that was 100% full.
I think fast forwarding in a song would be difficult. It is not as simple as skipping N blocks forward. We may need to reset the mp3 decoder chip. A block is not always X seconds and a block also contains data from the next and previous block (I think).
But still have "Out of memory error" with more than 6500 mp3 files.
Another question that is can I use your changed code ?
Is the player can FF ( fast forwarding) on playing ?
