Thank you Jenn for pointing that out. I made a mistake when setting
it up. The actual code is VRGX38KP

I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused.

Well, in my opinion, one of the biggest shortcomings of a definition
is that it is always based on several other definitions. For instance
if you define a calf as a baby cow, now you need the definition of
baby and the definition of cow. Is a sea cow a cow? And even if you
agree on what a cow is in general, what is meant here? Isn't a baby
bull a calf? Does that mean that a bull is a cow? Also, how young
does an animal have to be to considered a baby? So you see, any
definition assumes some understood terms. And, no matter how specific
you try to be with a definition, it is always at least somewhat open
to interpretation. Have I helped define some of the ways that
definitions fail?

I joined this group because my 6 year old son begged me to! :-) He
loves geometry--specifically he is passionate about the Platonic and
Archimedean solids. He asks daily to construct them..,toothpicks and
gumdrops, paper, polydron set...

One of his favorite rewards for cleaning his room, etc is watching
Platonic Rock on youtube. He found it all on his own :-).

His favorite 2 books right now are "Life of Fred--Geometry" and Daud
Sutton's "Platonic and Archimedean Solids."

He is begging to make circumspheres for his platonic solids! YIPES!
I am an Pre-unemployment major (AKA English lit--Victorian Studies)
and joined in hopes that my little guy will know that there are
indeed others out there in the vast cosmos who love geometry as much
as he does.

Thanks!

If you are looking for the new files, you may have trouble because I
moved them into their own folder so the link in the previous posts is
no longer correct. However, you should have no problem finding them
if you check the Files link in the Platonic Solids discussion group.
The files do a thorough job analyzing the question of how many ways 8
cubes can be arranged and also pointing out some analogies with
molecular structures.
