One more voice added to the disappointment with what Plaxo has become.
To be honest, I somewhat expected a decline in service of some sort
when they were gobbled up by Comcast, but this is getting ridiculous. I
joined Plaxo - as a Premium member - specifically because of the
features that (a) enable me to synchronize multiple address book
applications on multiple computers, and (b) receive automatic CONTACT
INFORMATION updates from people I already know who are also members. I
have invited a few people to join, but I'm not one to bombard everyone
in my contact list. Likewise, I have added some stuff to Pulse, but I
can happily do without it. (I use LinkedIn for business networking, and
I'm too busy for a lot of social networking.) I liked Plaxo the way it
was pre-Pulse. Now, I am searching for a replacement. If I can't find
one, I guess I'll have to create my own database in OpenOffice and then
quit from this. Unless, of course, Plaxo makes some changes.
Mind you, I don't have any beef with the existence of Pulse. I just
don't want to be REQUIRED to use it, and I don't want Pulse to - as it
has - detract from the core contact management functionality that I
signed up for. I would be very happy with a contacts-only option that
is restored back to the way it used to be.
