1. Sign into Plaxo
2. Click on 'Settings' (top right side of the page)
3. Click on 'People Search'
4. Uncheck the box and Save settings OR click 'don't list me in the directory'
5. Click on 'My Profile'
6. Click on 'Edit profile'
7. Delete Birthday and Location from Basic tab
8. Click on 'My Profile'
9. Click on 'Edit public profile'
10. Select 'Turn off public profile' from the drop down list and Save changes.
Is there some way that I can delete my Plaxo/Pulse "Public Profile" without closing my entire Plaxo account? I would still like to retain the ability to update the contact details of those in my address book, but don't wish to have an online "Profile" with Plaxo/Pulse. So far, I have been able to amend the privacy settings for my "Profile" so that I am the only one who can see most of the details. But is there some way I can delete the whole "Profile" without closing my entire Plaxo/Pulse account?

I will have to look at them more closely and see if I mis-understood something.I think it is confusing having the bottom of the Outlook contact window say "Plaxo Pulse [Name] is not a Plaxo member. Invite [name] so you can share up-to-date contact information, blogs, photos, videos, and more!" Between that text in Outlook, the fact that Pulse is front-and-center when logging in to Plaxo online, and that I always have to remember which sequence of things to click in order to find my contact list online, it seems less like the wonderful contact updating, multi-platform syncing entity that I fell in love with. The way Plaxo appears now on log-in, I don't think I would have joined....~Mindy

Hi MindyOh no. You don't have to be "connected" in order to be updated with information. Here's an example.Redgee is a Plaxo MemberMindy is a Plaxo MemberRedgee has Mindy in his address bookMindy has her Professional info shared with the Plaxo network (everyone) and Personal info shared only with Family and Friends.Because you share you Professional info publicly (everyone in the Plaxo network), then whomever has you in their addressbook will get your updated information. Think of it as a whitepage directory. And note that we don't have to be connected socially. Now, if you and I connected as Friends, then I will also be updated with your Personal information. Before, we used to have "permissioning" as Public and Private. Public is still there - we just refer to it as "everyone in the network" because Public scared some folks into thinking that the information is given to 3rd party organizations, etc.Private was split out into two additional classes - Family and Friends.Redgee

It seems that people have to be a Pulse connection in order for their info to automatically update. Why is this?
I found it friendlier when you were automatically connected to anyone in your address book who was also a Plaxo member.
