I was a member almost from the beginning. The changes that started to emerge
were, at first, ok. I was not a Premium member for all services, but I did use
Plaxo to send out greeting cards which I paid each year in order to do so. The
changes done to the greeting cards crossed a line and I finally had enough. I
corresponded with several customer services sort reps, and most couldn't even
understand what had changed. I appreciated sending the cards to the recipient,
where it could be opened and read privately at their own leisure. But then came
the change that the card would not be "sent" but would provide a link to the
card.
There were supposedly privacy protections, but they never worked! Personal
messages were open for all to see, and for each person I sent a common greeting,
I received a confirmation for that greeting email to email to email to email.
I was so frustrated that I decided I'd rather lose the data I had on Plaxo
rather than continue this battle to have a service that even slightly resembled
the service Plaxo used to be. Plaxo compromised its professional goals within
its own platform, tearing it down step by step. Now it would be a "social
networking group" rather than a place where birthdays, anniversaries, holidays,
etc. could be stored in a data base,
It was hard to do, but I did delete the service, I am sorry that Plaxo has
never really considered the great likelihood that I am not alone in my
viewpoint.
Sincerely,
Thomas Freeman
