Unfortunately I must report that there were important problems in
pninit.php for new installation of the books module .8 version because
all tables were created with non autoincrement primary key fields,
resulting in the module not working.
People upgrading from books .76 were not affected by this problem, only
new install experienced the problem (this is why I didn't noticed it on
www.vedrine.net and unfortunately this pninit.php was a brand new
version not very well tested)
I have now corrected the problem, but if you have already tried a new
install of the books module .8, you must
- upload all the new corrected files on your server
- try to deactivate and remove the books module in Administration -> Modules
- if this operation fails you must delete all the books module tables
with phpmyadmin and also delete the record with pn_name value set to
books in the pn_modules table (CAUTION: don't delete any other record in
that table !!)
- install the books module again
Sorry for the inconvenience !!
This is why I didn't already announced the module on postnuke.com, I
want to use the list to do some more testing before a great number of
people attempt to use it.
If no more important problems are reported for some days, I will make a
public announcment of the module release.
Thanks a lot to wendell for reporting thszi problem and helping to debug it.
