As those of you who read my weblog[1], or check the roadmap[2] will
know, work is well underway on PocketSOAP 2.0.
Currently the 2.0 binaries are fully backwardly compatible with the
1.x family, any application built against 1.x will continue to run
fine without any changes or recompile against the 2.0 binaries.
However this does mean that accessing the new features in 2.0 is not
as easy as it could be.
I've been thinking about breaking backward compatibility for the 2.0
release, tidying up all the interfaces making it easier to use. In
this case i would give everything new Ids so that it can be installed
/ run side by side with the 1.x version.
I'm looking for feedback, is anyone strongly for or against either
approach ?
Thanks
Simon
