new poker-eval-100 release   Message List

I have done some work on the poker-eval package (and incorporated
some of Brian's work) and decided to make a new release. Here's
what's new:

Added Omaha/Omaha8, JokerHigh, and Joker 8-or-better low
evaluation. Added a new enumeration layer, plus a
montecarlo sampling option. Added new examples pokenum,
usedecks, and utest1. Removed cmpN.c, which wasn't
compatible with the current library. Updated documentation.

The "pokenum" example is a member of the pot equity calculator genus
that handles a lot of different games. No joker support there yet
but otherwise complete.

Another example I am considering writing is a calculator of what
Paul Pudaite has called "subjective all-in equity" or SAIE. The
idea is to compute the pot equity of a hand against a distribution
of possible opponent hands. For example, preflop action may have
provided you with a particular estimate of your opponent's hand
distribution. That is, something like {AA 40%, KK 40%, AKs 20%}.
Your SAIE is the weighted average of your pot equity against these
possibilities, with probabilities conditioned by the cards you see
on the flop and hold in your hand.
