Among other card games, Texas Hold'em is highly predisposed to
probability-based strategies, because the difference between odds for
own hand and odds for opponents' hands are generally big.
But can you trust the odds software on the market or the tables
posted on related websites? You don't see the source code or the
formulas that have been applied there, so you have no possibility of
checking.
Most of results are rough approximations and some of them are quite
wrong. Some of their authors are not even specialists.
I highly recommend you a new release – "Texas Hold'em Odds" – the
most complete probability guide of Texas Hold'em Poker game.
You can use it for finding odds for any card formation for own hand
and for opponents', in any of gaming moments. You can improve your
betting decisions by comparing the odds for expected own card
formations with odds for possible higher card formations of
opponents. All possible gaming situations are covered. You can
correctly perform any hand analysis.
The guide holds both probability formulas (algorithms) and tables of
values. These return the needed results when inserting parameters as
number of seen certain cards, number of dealt certain community cards
and number of opponents. A lot of examples are attached.
Not only figures are presented, but also the complete mathematical
solutions, for anyone interested in probability calculus to learn and
be able to apply them in other card games.
The author is mathematician, also author of "Probability Guide of
Gambling" (www.probability.go.ro).
