The mission of the project is to create a collaborative effort among federal, state and local partners to restore the health of the land and waters of the Potomac River Basin. This will enhance the quality of life and overall health of the Chesapeake Bay, the nation’s largest estuary.

The Interactive Watershed web site part of this project is full of detailed digital terrain maps, immersive 360 degree panoramas, photographs, text and audiovisual stories demonstrating how local watershed restoration efforts can be achieved and encouraged through the use of technology, community education, and partnerships.
