Re: [prep2003discuss] Christians and evolution

Using that type of logic, if you make soup and put the pot on simmer for a few hours then you are not the perosn who made the soup as the soup evolved all on it's own without your help or input at all.
This is the lame arguement that the proponents of evolution always hit like a brick wall.
Just because God put the earth on simmer for a few billion years does not take away from the belief that God was responsible for the creation of the heavens and the earth.
You are meant to believe on the basis of faith and in doing so you will be rewarded much much more when judgement day comes in that you believed in God based souly on your faith in God.
Most have a problem with mixing science and religion, I do not. I believe that God created the universe, but that the people who wrote down the history wrote it in the simple language that the people of that time could understand.
As an example, if I were to be taken back in time with a few modern gadgets such as a cigarrette lighter or even matches, I would have been burnt at the stake as being a witch just a few hundred years ago. Mans understanding of his surroundings is also evolving just as man is evolving too.

May I list Christians who believe in evolution?

Any Christain who believes in evolution cant possibly be true to his faith and belief in the Bible.

Most mainstream Protestant churches.

MOST of anything does not make it right. That is why of the message to the Seven Chruches of Revelation, only ONE church (religion) that has the right message. And not everyone there, only a "remnant" have the real truth.

John Paul II.

The Catholics were forbidden to read the Bible for centuries. I wonder why. Because there is a message there they do not want their followers to hear. It has been my personal experience, that the Catholics that decide to seriously "study" the Bible end up leaving the church for they find they have been lied to all of their lives by the leaders of the church.

Other religions

Back to question number one of the seven churches.

Most Reform Jews believe in evolution. I rest my case . They are "reformed".  People who just "go with the flow" are not always right.
