There are many sickos in this world that use the old, "God told me to do it" defense when they go out and commit crimes against God, nature and man.

Using that type of logic, if you make soup and put the pot on simmer for a few hours then you are not the perosn who made the soup as the soup evolved all on it's own without your help or input at all.
This is the lame arguement that the proponents of evolution always hit like a brick wall.
Just because God put the earth on simmer for a few billion years does not take away from the belief that God was responsible for the creation of the heavens and the earth.
You are meant to believe on the basis of faith and in doing so you will be rewarded much much more when judgement day comes in that you believed in God based souly on your faith in God.
Most have a problem with mixing science and religion, I do not. I believe that God created the universe, but that the people who wrote down the history wrote it in the simple language that the people of that time could understand.
As an example, if I were to be taken back in time with a few modern gadgets such as a cigarrette lighter or even matches, I would have been burnt at the stake as being a witch just a few hundred years ago. Mans understanding of his surroundings is also evolving just as man is evolving too.

Any Christain who believes in evolution cant possibly be true to his faith and belief in the Bible.

Most mainstream Protestant churches.

MOST of anything does not make it right. That is why of the message to the Seven Chruches of Revelation, only ONE church (religion) that has the right message. And not everyone there, only a "remnant" have the real truth.

John Paul II.

The Catholics were forbidden to read the Bible for centuries. I wonder why. Because there is a message there they do not want their followers to hear. It has been my personal experience, that the Catholics that decide to seriously "study" the Bible end up leaving the church for they find they have been lied to all of their lives by the leaders of the church.

Other religions

Back to question number one of the seven churches.

Most Reform Jews believe in evolution. I rest my case . They are "reformed".  People who just "go with the flow" are not always right.

The belief in God is just that, a belief and con not be proven using man's crude science. If you really look into the bible you will see that you are being tested in everything you do and say in this lifetime on earth. You will also see that you are being tested in the simple belief that God actually exists or not. "Blessed are those that see and believe, more blessed are those that do not see and still believe." Actually man's science finds more and more evidence of evolution which by some simple folks would lead them down the wrong road into believing that there is no God and that evolution is that actual path which we took into existance.
But if you look at the entire picture from a logical and philosophical stand point you will be able to see that the beginning of the bible was written in a very simple overview of the actual creation process. The bible states that the world was created in 6 days. The way we measure a day on this planet is how long it takes the planet to make one complete revolution on it's axis. The planet earth was not around during the beginning phases of the creation process, so how do you measure time when the unit of measurement  has not yet been set into motion.
The bible talks very simply about the creation process and in doing so may have overlooked the fact that it took millions of "our" years to create the heavens and the earth, but that God is timeless and therefore is not bound to the limits of this dimension or time itself.
The whole idea of trying to disprove the existence of God by using science, based on assumptions that we even actually exist on a physical plain, is like asking the question, " Which came first, the chicken or the egg". It does not really matter how the universe came into being from a religious point of view, only that you have enough faith to accept that God does exist and to live your life accordingly.

If you didn't sound so condescending in your replies, maybe you'd
be worth replying to. Your attitude is very poor, Geoff.
And, looking over your replies to Sandi's questions, you didn't give

Your right of course, I guess 1500 years plus is ancient (I wonder what the
qualifications are for ancient)
Although I guess you could argue the point. Historical document, yes.
Historically accurate document, perhaps not.

You know reading this just now, I have to ask myself, what is
scarier? Blindsided, et. al, or this prophecy?

Now I have to tell people why I joined this list. Why would a Christian who stands firm in her beliefs and strong in her convictions want to join a list which clearly the majority are "non believers"???

After studying the Bible for many years I have been led to believe that we are truly living in the end times when God will once again destroy the world.  An in-depth study of "God's Clock" ( revealed in the Bible and began with the Exodus in 1457BC), the time for the end should be within this decade and no later than 2017.

All Bible scholars will tell you we have already opened the 3rd seal . Many of those same scholars believe the first trumpet is about to blow.  In the first & second trumpet  (Rev8:7,8) there are obviously objects falling from the sky cast to the earth and sea which causes 1/3 of the earth to be destroyed.  Since God destoys the earth by using the elements (ie: flood of Noah), we (Christians) look to the elements as signs of these events. Planet X fit the design.  Not being one to believe everything I hear or see on the internet, I joined the list to see if I could find some could sustancial PROOF of Planet X. I find it DOES exist, but I cant find any evidence that it is coming our way.

I did not realize I would get into discussions of religion and eveolution, etc, but it makes for good discussions. And don't get me wrong, I enjoy them. Give me all you got. My faith is stronger than yours.

For those of you who do not believe in the Bible, I offer these comforting thoughts....When there is massive worldwide destruction, from the elements and wars, and utter chaos and the world is united into one world governement and one world religion, some  might take note that you have heard this "somewhere before". Could it have been the Bible?   Nah, you say, cant be , it is only coincidence. But when you are taken away the priviledge of being able to buy and sell, except you have the mark of the Beast, many of you non-believers will be dusting off Grandma's old Bible, taking it down off that shelf where it has sat for many years, and looking for some answers.   I take comfort in knowing that you have chosen the right book for your answers.

If you don't believe in the Bible, why keep the commandments?  I am sure you dont lie, steal, murder, ?  Why live by the commandments if you don't believe in the Bible. If the Bible is not true, why did man choose the same laws given to us over 4000 years ago?

I appreciate all of your input and discussions. Maybe now you know where I am coming from. If ONE person from this list ends up turning to the Bible for answers when the end comes, I feel I have accomplished my mission. God Bless you all.

Evolution is not nonsense. Did you watch the PBS mini-series on evolution?
What is your theory? If it is Middle Eastern mythology. I am not
interested.

Why do the professionals believe such nonsense? Because it works with the
other theories and facts of biology. It is too logical to be nonsense. The
fossil record supports it. Genetics and biology support it. It is based on
years of thought and research.

I have not heard any satisfactory substitute theories. All of the ones I
have heard are based on a literal interpretation of the Bible. To those
that don't believe that the Bible should be interpreted literally, those
theories are nonsense.

Nonsense could be defined as something that makes no sense. Evolution makes
sense to a lot of people. It makes a lot more sense to me than making the
Bible a science text book.

Now, I know I am making an assumption. Some Native Americans don't believe
in evolution but believe in the mythologies of their people. Not anymore
scientific than the Bible. But you could be a person who believes in those
mythologies rather than the Middle Eastern ones. So I apologize if you
weren't basing your belief on the mythology I guessed you were basing it on.

Sorry about that, Will.

I would think any document over 1500 years old could be referred to
as historical. (i.e. ancient).

So they are trying to point out the sliver in other's eyes when they
have a log in their own? (from the bible somewhere)

Worm, I am not personally scared by it either. I was just trying to
make a comparison of the predictions.

Jesus? Historical document? LMAO!!!

That was my point. The evolutionary theory was being hammered for 'lack of
evidence' when as a Christian, these people truly are standing in glass
houses with big piles of rocks.

Ya know, Bob...none of it scares me. I welcome "the will of God."
What scares me is where our society is heading. Authority figures
in our lives to the point where now they're wanting to implant
tracking devices under our skin. And some will still deny that this
is prophecy fulfilled. These things will come to pass, and so many
fools will suffer for their ignorance and their stubbornness. Their
steadfast belief in science and logic. Not everything can be
explained away with logic. Just because there are FALSE prophets,
doesn't mean there aren't REAL PROPHETS! You can't have one without
the other.
I prefer PX, but either way we'll be knashing our teeth. :-)

Distruction is easy ask any one who watches 6 > 18 year old boys.
Creation takes time, dedecation, and vision. Transfomation is even
harder because being on the inside the transformed does not see the
change, but in a lifetime some progress can be made.
Like foxwothy said when he broke his mother Jack Danials "Elvis
decanter" and his mom said, "We can't have nutton nice around here!"
