Hi:
I've been reading everyone's horror stories about health care facilities. I'll add my own. I used to work at Kaiser Permanente in the NW and it was a nightmare. One of the people I supported was the QA Manager so I saw numerous people become terminal because they wouldn't do a test because it wasn't cost effective! One guy got to his eye appointment 5 minutes late and the doctor would not see him. My QA person went to talk to the doctor and found she had no appointments for over an hour and was just on the computer but she still wouldn't see him. Doctors did whatever they could to not have to work very hard.
Now I work at Mayo Clinic and I can't say enough good things about the place. Oh, to see patients be the top priority! And one of the criteria for hiring the doctors is they must be nice people! What a concept!
