Created as a network for Professional Primate Caregivers - zookeepers, lab
or sanctuary workers, for example - a place for them to meet, share information
and ideas, with the common goal of a better life for the primates in our care.
Any topic related to primate care is welcome. Sensitive issues, if on topic, are
fine and anonymous posting will be allowed to protect anyone worried about
their job. Healthy debate and disagreements that make us all think are
encouraged. However, all posts are subject to approval and no open attacks
on another list member or their organization will be tolerated. Opinions should
be stated respectfully, as one professional to another, and claims should be
backed up with evidence.
This is not the place to air your personal beefs with your employer, though
true issues of animal care are fine. Also, information about your workplace,
their policies, procedures and hiring practices, is welcome as a service to
those considering changing jobs, since this will often involve a major move.
This is not the place to debate whether any of the organizations list members
work for should exist. Private pet owners, pet dealers and breeders should seek
out one of the lists especially designed for them.
