Lucas record follows Fibonacci   Message List

Bouk and I just proved that the Lucas number L51169
is prime. The method was comparable to that for the
Fibonacci number F81839. This time we were even
further from 33% with N-1 or N+1 separately:

> Calling N-1 BLS with factored part 25.59%
> and helper 24.41% (101.20% proof)
> V(51169) is prime!

By our count, there are now 3 gigantic primes that
break the deterministic mould of deliberately
constructing N-1 or N+1 to be explicitly factorized:

U(81839) 17103 Broadhurst/deWater/Pfgw
(7568^3361-1)/7567 13034 Andrew A. D. Steward
V(51169) 10694 Broadhurst/deWater/Pfgw

As the GRU record holder, Andy will appreciate
the ECM work behind the Lucas and Fibonacci records.

David Broadhurst and Bouk de Water
