By Internal Test, I assume you mean printer self tests. Have you
tried printing off line from something like Notepad?? Also, go to the
DOS prompt and type, dir>lpt1 and see what happens. Sounds like a
communication problem between the PC and the printer.

(lot cheaper!)Need 4 of them. Note, these are Canon/HP part nos. re EX
engine.
I have an Apple LaserWriter 630. I am getting paper jams as the paper
exits the printer or right before it starts to come out. The end of the
page is wrinkeled like an accordion . I believe the exit roller need to
be replaced. do you have this replacment kit? Or is there a different
problem?

run several internal test prints that turn out fine. But, when i try to
print any thing while on line i get an OUT OF PAPER error!!!! The

Replace the Pickup Roller and check the exit sensor
arm to freely moovment and manual feed on in control
panel. let me know the latest position

Received a Code 50.
Called repairman, he said it would be either the fuser or a power
supply.
He tried both of them, said they were not the problem, and that it
would be to costly to repair.
Was he correct?
I am working on a LJ III problem where i continually
get error code 13 paper jam without any jam evident.
The printer feeds the first page ok and then stops the
second page at the transfer guide entry (no physical jams).
Also I replaced the DC controller board and the solenoid
pcb with no success. The solenoid seems to click excessively
when the roller is feeding the paper. Any recommendations
would be appreciated.

hold the Panel Button to display the error code. Note which light or
lights are on and which are off while you are holding the button.
Example: is the top and bottom lights on and the middle one out?
The sequence of lights when you push the button will indicate the
problem. Repond to me with results and I'll see what I can do from
there.

Did you try a different cartridge? Is the transfer area clean?

defective AC power supply. If you can swap parts, wud be best way to
find out. If different fuser tried and problem same, replace AC power
supply.

Have an hp laser 8000 I recently did a maintanace kit on the problem
is it sometimes prints heavy lines down the lead edge of pages about a
1/4 inch wide from excess toner being picked up.for a day at a time
then it will go a few days with no problem then it starts to act up
again. there are seven other printers in and laser fax unit in the
sdame room none of them are having problems. They all get the same
paper.
My HP laserJet 6L just crapped out. All three lights stay on. I've
fixed HP's in the past and usually it gets down to one part that
usually goes bad.
1. Would you have any idea what part is bad?
2. If so, which one and how much?
I'm and MCSE and build PC's for a living and am willing to take the
risk of fixing the thing myself. I will not hold your resposible if I
screw up or you recommend the wrong part.

I have a HP 820Cse inkjet printer. It had a paper jam and I removed it
and now when powering the unit up the printer goes through the regular
initialization routine and then the carriage slams to the left side of
the unit and then the LED's start blinking. Any Ideas???
following steps found on HPs tech support site, i've determined
error (all LEDs are lit) on my printer is due to a defective fuser.
my questions are:
are there any available drawings (exploded views of printer and parts
or assemblies)of the laserjet 6L?
or can someone describe the safest way to remove the assembly?
there seems to be two springs held by the plate that is on top of the
upper roller. i don't want to lose these springs during removal of the
plate or the assembly.
i can do a quick voltage test of the visible terminals. what kind of
voltages should i look for?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

> The greyish vertical streaking may be caused by the high-voltage
power supply. The paper tray must be removed to get to it. The fuser
should not cause this type of error.
If text is falling off the page, try this first. Try running a printer
self test(s) to determine if the printer is functioning properly. If
the printouts are good (text is within margins) then the problem could
be software related. Check the printer setup on the pc.
Replacing the fuser is easier than replacing a hard drive in a
computer. There are two screws to remove and the fuser will come out
of the machine. I would recommend replacing the rollers supplied in
the maintenance kit. This is also a low level task.
My LaserJet 4 just started giving me poor output -- I get grayish
vertical streaking and note parts of printed letters are falling off
the page. Does this sound like the fuser?
Is replacing the fuser something I can do? (I've replaced power
supplies, hard drives, etc.)
Also, what about the maintenance kit. Are these parts I should replace
with the fuser, and can I do that?
Which OEM would you choose to be the next market leader for network printing.
