Yes you can do this IF your PA has some kind of low or high pass x-over thingy
built in
that lets just the lows go somewhere. Also - if the combo bass amp has an amp
input or
effect loop with a return jack you should try them because plugging straight
into the front
like a bass will be too hot for it and it will distort. Maybe it has a high and
low input jack
choice on the front if it does not have the effects return or amp line in jacks
- if so - try
the low input. Some amps have a switch on the input jack for passive vs. active
- try
active to pad it down. Another very crude method is to use a full range signal
from the PA
into the bass amp and turn the mid and high knobs OFF keeping the bass knob
adjusted
to taste. What kind of PA board is it? Does it have a proper sub out with only
lows coming
from that output? What kind of bass combo amp is it - what kind of in/out jacks
are on it?
Another thing you could do...
Get a low to high impedence adapter for a kick mic and plug it into the input of
the extra
combo bass amp and adjust it to taste. This will give you some bump on the
bottom
without cluttering the little speakers on the sticks trying to carry the vocals.
Don't put bass or kick into a small PA on a stick.
