it is a nuisance removing the pcmcia-card so would rather keep using the original
I have other Progears in parts so will try another card with one of those eventually
as far as other OS, how slow would XP by on the Progear?

... I've used a hub with the Linux ProGear with a wifi device, keyboard and mouse plugged in to the hub w/o problem. Doesn't 98 require a driver for the hub?...

By the way, I have problems with hotspots like tmobile and att as well. most of the time it's interference from other AP's. Another funny thing with the Cisco...
