I think that you need to add them to Query Security into the appropriate
query secruity group.

If you add the table to the apporpriate access group within Tree Manager
and still don't see the item, make sure that the Query Security is set
correctly (see PeoplelTools - Utilities - Query Security - Query Profile).
The operator has to have access to the access group to which you add the
table.

Below is the list of all the Operator security setup tables I had
compiled some time back because we had to copy security from one
database to another every now and then. A SQL script would look at the
list of the tables and copy the contents of those tables from one
database to another.

You can write your own SQL scripts to perform security setup for all
operators in one shot for any/all objects of Peoplesoft. Of course, you
should remember to maintain referential integrity while doing that. If
you wish to know how and which of these tables are related, I can gladly
help you with that.

What version are you using? If you are using version 7.0 or higher, you
should set up operator classes and assign all of your users to the
appropriate classes. Then you modify the access rights to each class. If
you need to add things 'across the board' you should have a class for all
users and just maintain that item.

Hello

I have tried to track people code execution time from level 1 scroll
bar to level 3 scroll bar.
method that I have tried using application Reviewer :
write global variable in people code (by assigning %datetime)
and keep pressing F5, to see the output.
I am working with People Soft 5.12. Is any body has other method ?
The other method is to output to the file, and can see the list of
execution time.
(I have not tried this method yet).
Thanks in advance

Each and every application fix comes along with instructions and pre-
requisites. It depends on whether its a SQR fix or application engine
fix or peoplcode or cobol fix or DMS. Each has a different way of
applying. You can go thru' them and make a customized one.

Hi,

The table that you have defined in the database, you have to define this
as a record in the application designer. Its always advisable to create
the record in application designer first and then create it in the
database. Then you have to use the tree manager to add this new record
to the access group that you want this record to be in.

Take Care,

Shibu

Marilee,
I don't have access so I am working from memory here. Go to the tree editor and
look for the Query Access tree. Then you can add the table as a node to that
tree. Make sure you log out and then back in order for you to "see" the table.

I am in the process of creating an interface from a SQLBase application to PS/PO
tables. I would like to run this interface through PeopleSoft's EDI manager (to
leverage the built-in error checking functionality) without creating a
PeopleSoft business document. I believe this can be done by modifying the
ECIN0001.SQR to read directly from the SQLBase tables instead of a PeopleSoft
Business Document.
If anyone has ever tried this, or something similar, I would appreciate any
knowledge/advice you can pass along.
Thanks in advance.

Guy,
You need to go to the specific Access Group Query Tree in Tree Manager and
add the tables to the tree. You should then be able to see the tables in
Query provided you have access to that Query Tree.

In the Data Designer, go under change - record use, and their is a spot there to
designate an audit record. The audit record has to have three fields I think,
audit_oprid,
audit_stamp, and audit_actn and then you can add the other fields that you want
to
track.

How do you add audit at field level or record level in version 6? All I
know about Audit is the integrity audit for Tools in Utilities - Process
- System Audit.

Sorry about posing a question instead of answering one. I'm quite a
green horn as far as working with audits is concerned.

Brian, you should be able to turn the tracing on in the record definition
for the PSTREENODE field (in the properties for the record). this will
generate audit information in the PSAUDIT table. It is possible though,
that since the tree is processed through a special PeopleTool, that the
auditing does not work like the regular panel processor.

Subject: [psusers] Auditing tree tables

Hello
I am trying to fgure out when a tree gets changed in the PS tree manager.
We have
a lot of nodes which change very frequently, and every time that the tree
changes, we
don't create a new effective dated tree because we really don't need the
history.

Anyway, I have tried adding audits on the field level on the pstreenode
table, and at
the record level on pstreenode, but can't seem to get those to work. Am I
working with
the wrong underlying table? I would prefer to have it at the record level,
because basically
we just want to know when a node has changed (its position, name, etc...)

We are on PeopleSoft 6.1

Thanks for the help!

Try looking at the PSAUTH type tables. There are a couple (psauthitem,
psauthsignon, etc.)

You can manipulate the data there with an SQR. Good luck.

ps - we update logon times for lockout purposes during a payroll run.

Subject: Third-party tools to move TREES, Security Defns, etc ??????
Richard_McCutcheon@...

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for info on any third-party tools that could be used to move
Security definitions, Query Trees, subsets of data, and other miscellaneous
objects from one PeopleSoft database to another.

What we want to do is make the creation of a number of test databases
easier for ourseves while being able to move static controlled subsets of
data and ensuring our query access, and security classes are in sync with
production. This can be a huge job if we had to manually pass the security
etc across databases.

An associate of mine attended the PSoft conference in San Francisco this
year and saw booths for a number of such tools, but the line-ups were so
long that he wasn't able to get any of the info. for them.

Any info, help, discussion would be greatly appreciated.
Later.

Try placing audits on the PS_DEPT_TBL. The department security tree
(which is what I am assuming you are trying to track) is built from
PS_DEPT_TBL from a process (the number escapes me). If you audit the
changes to PS_DEPT_TBL you may be able to capture the information you
are looking for.

How do you add audit at field level or record level in version 6? All I
know about Audit is the integrity audit for Tools in Utilities - Process
- System Audit.

Sorry about posing a question instead of answering one. I'm quite a
green horn as far as working with audits is concerned.

Hello! I have a question for this group regarding Operator Security.
Does anyone out there have a method for updating operator security
across the board? I have asked our consultants and they tell me that
the only way to update operator security is on-line. I was just
wondering if anyone had set-up and SQR or SQL routine or some other
method to update operator security in instances where all users should
be given access to a particular item. Any Help is appreciated.

I seem to remember in release 5.x there was some errant workflow
messages even though the client was not utilizing workflow. You need
to be sure all workflow roles are set to null. Sorry if this is fuzzy, but it
was about two years ago.

You will need to comment out the "workflow" PeopleCode calls on the job
record to make this stop. We have done this at my current client under 7.01
HRMS Public Sector.

Hi. This forum is going to be a great asset.

Thought I'd post a quick question that's been bugging me. I'm currently
using PeopleSoft 7.5 HRMS and every time a term or hire an employee in the
job panels and save it I get annoying messages telling me that I have no
memebrs in the Hr group or Payroll group and that no activities were found
for this action. I'm assumimng this has to do with Work flow, which we
don't want to use. How do I get rid of these messages. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Just so we aren't all wondering if this is working....

I am pleasantly suprised to see we are up to 26 members
already. I guess there really was some demand for a group
like this.

Eventually we my need to split into seperate technical and
function groups. I bet right now we are all sqr developers at
least part time. I guess we'll wait and see how the
discussions go and worry about that later.

Anyway...welcome, thanks for joining and lets not be shy.
