That msg might indicate required files may not have been  installed.

Not too familiar w/ dosbox, but a quick jump to the forums  I found a pet for an updated version --- > dosbox .072

There is also a  pet for a gui, and  pets for the additional files required.
(Needs SDL and SDL_net to work.)
