Re: KT66's

Being pedantic, and I have been rightly accused of that in the past! the listing
says:

*
KT66 RETRO
*
GEC STYLE
*
ELECTRICALLY AND PHYSICALLY SIMILAR TO THE KT66 GEC
*
PERFECTLY MATCHED QUAD
*
MADE IN RUSSIA

So similar is not the same as identical. I think I have read reports that of
some reproduction KT66 having a higher than normal heater current. This may be
OK is the Quad 22 and early Quad tuners are not used (as these consume HT and LT
from the Quad II).

My guess would be that that these would be fine. As mentioned Langrex are a very
reputable company.

you are worried then follow my example and use 6L6GCs or 5881s (0.9A)

Perhaps the worst fear of a Quad Valve amp owner is that an original KT66 fails. Sadly, this has occurred to me. All nice GEC labels until last Thursday and...
