Andy,
Thank you for your reply.I have tried all of your suggestions
earlier. I have had several different USB devices through
the years and the drivers for the QX3 reminded me of my
old Agfa 1212u scanner Fotolook software that would fail
and complain of SCSI issues though it was USB. Of course
better software resolved that problem.
One problem with the software for the QX3 be it Intel
or DigitalBlue is that they resize the screen to 800x600
while I prefer a higher resolution. I tried the
microscope on both P4 win 2000 and P2 win 98 with
both of these loads and had connection problems.
The light controls top/bottom work fine but their
are issues which interfere with the video drivers
making the proper connection. Clearly not a USB
connect problem. The QX3 appeared in Device
Manager as an Imaging Device along with my
scanners. Twain Aquire also connected in
with the same results as the Intel/DigitaBlue
softwares, a black screen.
Considering all the happy owners of the QX3 who
have not indicated similar problems I have
returned it for replacement as I suspect that
it may be suffering from machanical failure.
