Hi everyone!
I just got a DELL Dimension 2400 and love it. It has been a long
time since I have used my QX3 and I decided to dust it off
(literally) and give it a try with my new computer.
I think the greatest feature of the QX3 is the time-lapse "movies".
They are just great.
As many of you already know, the original QX3 (and included
software) will not work with Windows 2000 or XP. I visited the
Intel web site and found the following:
http://www.intel.com/support/intelplay/qx3/updateinfo.htm
This is software and instructions to use the older QX3 on Windows
2000 or XP. After downloading it, I followed the instructions and
installed the software. After re-booting, I plugged-in the QX3
(thank you DELL for the up-front USB connectors) and it worked great!
The website referenced above has all the instructions for successful
installation, but here are the highlights.
System requirements for this download are:
o Broadband Internet Connection (Highly recommended due to
download's large filesize of 94MB)
o 450 MB of free hard disk space to save and install this download
(250MB will be freed after installation)
o USB enabled computer
o Microsoft Windows* 2000 or Windows* XP

XP already includes DirectX 8.1)
