Dear Randy,

We are currently preparing to collect and photograph body lice from North
American hummingbirds here in south-east Arizona where we have recorded 18
species. Our collaboration is with Dr. Robert Dalgleish at the San Diego Museum
and--by extension--with Dr. Yoshika-Willis at the Univ of Sao Paulo in Brazil,
both expert phthirapterists.

Are you interested in having any of these photos to post--as we obtain them, of
course? Very little is known of hummingbird ecto-parasites; and this approach
will be a first.

We would be especially interested in information on any image enhancement
programs for the Digital Blue QX-5.
