The main problem with the QX3 is the very shallow depth of field,
especially at the higher powers. If you are examining flat objects then
a ring (or multiple rings) would probably work. The ring would have to
be a specific height. I cut a the bottom off a clear Solo brand cup and
balanced the QX3 on it and got acceptable results at 10X. See
