GM Tube Position?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #52 of 160 |
I have been experimenting with an Aware RM-60, placing it in various
places around my house, and I have noticed there is a slight long term
difference of about 3 counts per hour between placing the unit flat
and standing it upright. The count is higher with the unit laying
flat. This means the GM tube is parallel to the earth's surface. I
assume the slightly higher count is because the tube's capture area
has greater exposure to both the sky and the earth's surface?

Comments anyone?

Thanks

Bill
