We've made some more changes to the upstreaming CPU usage improvements.
This release includes a fix for a problem where pictures posted through
the myPictures Tool would take a long time to upstream. It also fixes a
bug which could cause files in deeply nested sub-folders to take a long
time to upstream.
*** How to test
1. Download the new parts here:
http://jake.userland.com/gems/upstreamPerfFixes05.fttb
2. Using the Open command in Radio's file menu, import the downloaded
file, and click OK to all confirmation dialogs.
3. In the window that opens, run the script named install.
4. Post a new picture using the myPictures tool -- drop a picture into
the watched folder. Within a few seconds, your browser should open to
Radio's desktop website home page, with HTML text for the image
pre-loaded.
5. Send email to the radio-dev mail list letting us know that it worked.
*** New verb: radio.upstream.folderNeedsScan
Along with this release comes a new verb,
radio.upstream.folderNeedsScan. Call this verb with the path to a
sub-folder of your upstream folder to tell Radio to scan the folder
immediately. It's similar to radio.upstream.folderNeedsUpstream, but
only new or changed files will be upstreamed from the folder you pass
in.
If you have any questions or bugs to report, please send email to the
radio-dev mail list.
Thanks,
-Jake
