Are you guys (UL & co-conspirators) familiar with KQueue?

which seems to offer native OS based File system monitoring on BSD
filesystems including Darwin/MacOSX.

I've already demonstrated how FS monitoring can lead to improved
upstreaming with neglible CPU impact on Windows. Could you use this
to do the same for Mac and come up with a much improved Radio
upstreaming facility on both platforms?
