I took a screen shot of my users outline and put it on Scripting News.

I'm done for the evening. Sean Elfstrom has it working, so does Brent, so I
guess it's at least mostly right. Now comes lots of smoothing out,
glitch-fixing, and deepening. I think the basic framework is solid. XML,
outlines and HTTP. Not bad.
Two final thoughts to leave you with, first, it's the music that drives
this. Bets on file sharing are missing that. Number one is Napster, number
two is Gnutella. Number three is Scour or ?? Not sure. Other kinds of
filesharing won't have the same kind of value. There is no application with
the power of music.
Second, after music, it's the community. Learning and sharing what we love
about music. Exploring Sean's collection of Sting songs makes me think he
could give me two Stings a day for a few weeks and I'd be one happy camper.
Third thought, a bonus. This network as I envision it just *begs* for a
payment and fullfillment system to link to. I want to right-click on the two
Sting songs and get clean copies on my hard drive and have them be legal.
We are talking with other technology-in-music people about this. When you
make this feature request, as I'm you all will, remember that there's still
an outage if we all want to respect the property of others. I can't speak
for you, but I do want to do that.
Good night, it was an amazing evening. Looking forward to seeing what you
all build from here.
