A Dutch banker who went missing from his London home has been found dead with gunshot wounds in an area of Berkshire woodland.
Huibert Gerard Boumeester, 49, from Belgravia, went missing on Monday taking two of his shotguns.
The former chief financial officer at ABN Amro, who quit his job last March citing "personal reasons", had been described as being "vulnerable".
His body was found near Drift Road, in Winkfield, Windsor, on Sunday morning.
In a statement, Mr Boumeester's family expressed their "great sadness" at Mr Boumeester's death.
'Feeling down'
"We are deeply grieved by what we must now assume is a tragic outcome," it said.
"We express our thanks to all those people who have been searching for Huibert these past days.
"We are left with great sadness."
Mr Boumeester joined ABN Amro, in 1987.
He worked his way up to the post of chief financial officer before leaving early last year.
It is not known whether he left the company voluntarily or was forced out but he was described by police as "feeling down of late" when he went missing on 22 June.
'Unexplained death'
A 2007 takeover of the Dutch bank plunged the Royal Bank of Scotland into record losses.
A spokeswoman for ABN Amro said: "We are sorry for the news about Mr Boumeester.
"Our thoughts go out to his family."
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the investigation was currently being treated as "an unexplained death".
Concerns grew for Mr Boumeester's safety when he was reported missing after failing to keep a business appointment.
Metropolitan Police officers said they were liaising with colleagues in Thames Valley Police.
