I couldn't find a classified section so I don't know if posting here
is acceptable use.

I came here awhile back looking for a solution to "the problem"
and was guided by some excellent folks here, thanks again. I
have successfully repaired my Raite AV715 and installed a
external power switch (it had already previously been fully
hacked and now thinks it's a Yamakawa)--problem is, when it
crapped out I buggered the drive tray getting a rental disc out (in
my haste), and although the PS now works, the tray does not
want to close all the way. If anyone is looking for a unit with a
fixed PS and has a working drive, it should be an easy swap.
The hard part is done, but since the drive is faulty I can't verify
that everything works as before, so "Caveat Emptor!"

BTW, I'm in San Diego, CA. Any ideas as to a reasonable asking
price, or where I should list it? It seems like too specialized an
item for general eBay listing. My wife got tired of waiting for me
to fix it and we've since bought another one. I don't use the
macrovision hack and I can play Region 2 DVD's on my iBook
and hook it up to the TV.
