Season's greetings and happy new year to all.

Picked up an extra 715 for $ 10 recently and thought I might change
the DVD player for a hard drive, a spare 20 GB I have from an old PC,
formatting it FAT 32 and loading it with MP3's to create a MP3
jukebox. I thought I read in an old post that you could do this. Or am
I going bonkers?

I recall that one helpful fellow in our group said something about a
firmware patch to change the functions of the remote keys to switch
between the DVD drive and hard drive (I guess this would suggest that
you could have both DVD and hard drives installed?) but I can't find
any such patch in the files section. Has anybody done this?

But if you just wanted a hard drive only player then why would you
need to monkey with the remote?

Anyone like to share their experience or advice?
