Hi!
Anyone could please post a description of how to sucessfully burn a
firmware update Cd in Easy CD creator for instance? Is it just to burn
the two files with the joliet format and keep the filenames intact?

Hi there,
I've got a yakamawa 715 with firmware 3c. unfortunately they skipped
the option to change the regio-code in this firmware or did they only
change the key's you have to press???
Does anyone know a possibility to change the regio-code te regio free??
Maybe there is a possibility to "update" an older firmware-version like
5-23 where it was still possible to change the regio-code??
Where can I get older firmware versions???
Thanx for help
I have a very annoying problem with my Tokai player: the background
colors in most scenes (e.g. The Matrix Z2, Meat Loaf Classic Albums)
seems to be shifting color all the time: green for instance will change
into dark green-medium green-light green continuously.
The player+tv in the store didn't have this problem.
This has been identified as the "Masseproblem" or something in German,
but my German isn't good enough to really understand what it is all
about. Can anybody here help me out?
cheers mate.

Is there anyone that knows how to disable Macrovision on a Raite 711
with Bios B*R15PB-02 990607 ???? I`ve tried all the combinations for
Raite 713, 715 but with no results... I have heard that there is a way
but how? Is it possible to uppgrade the firmware on this model without
taking out the chip??
/Carl
Check out this page for updating your firmware: http://www.seditec.com/
The latest firmware are 3C for the german Yamakawa (Same player as
Raite, Monyka, Hoyo). Note that VBR mp3 is Ok!
5-3C, latest German firmware,
goods: macrovision-off OK, future upgradable from CDRs, vbr mp3 OK,
Yamakawa logo looks alot better thanRaite's
bads: default is PAL video-out, so video is all messed up until you
enter commands to make it NTSC, all regions
except US (can't play US(region 1) DVD's until someone finds a way)
unknown: Is there a US version of this '3C'?

I got Philips TV and Video and it works great. I tested to copy a film
(also region 2) without any problems.
But I did have some problems with the colors when I first connected the
DVD-player to the TV. The problem was in the TV-setup. Only one of the
three Scart-contacts were able to show the SVHS (DVD-player) correct
and I was forced to make some changes in the TV's setup for that
contact. On the other scarts the picture was in Black & White.

The 3C is an German firmware and that the problem is in NTSC... There
should not be any problem if you have a Pal-TV..

You can get it from a german site, Seiditec. http://www.seditec.com/sei
te8.htm The only problem is that the site is in German but you can
translate it with http://babelfish.altavista.com. I did that in message

I just bought my Raite 715 from an online dealer (Egghead). the
Raite website says to see your dealer for the upgraded firmware.
I'm guessing that Egghead does not have it. Is there somewhere

THIS WORKS ON MY RAITE 713K FIRM 5-37
Regio Code: (All verions)
[COPIED FROM A RAITE SITE]
Put a DVD in the player & go to the setup menu. (Press STOP 2x - Press
SETUP)
Press SLOW - Left SKIP - Right SKIP
Now you get something like this *B* in the left upper corner.
A stands for regio 1 - B stands for regio 2 - and so on
Use the arrows to browse through the options until you get three stars
***
The player is now regio free
Macrovision: (Only tested on 5-37 & 5-38)
Put a DVD in the player & go to the setup menu. (Press STOP 2x - Press
SETUP)
Press SLOW - Right SKIP - PAUSE
Now you get an M in the left upper corner
Press PLAY, now its Macrovision free
Some has reported it's only Macrovision free until you power down the
RAITE,
but I've tested with many Macrovision protected DVD's and it even worked
after I've power down. (Firmware version 5-38)
Firmware:
To see what firmware you have simply go to the SETUP
Press SLOW - Left SKIP - 3
The firmware appears on the upper left corner

Hi,
I leave in europe and I've purchase a DVD Raite Avphile 715.
I've trying to disable macrovision but when I type the key sequence,
nothing happend ( no "M" in the upper corner etc...).
When the sequence is finished, I'm still on the setup menu.
My DVD is recent, I think that it's a new firmware and the hidden menu
is no more active.
I cannot see the firmaware revision ( no hidden menu to show that )
Is anybody have the same problem ?
Is it a solution to make an upgrade/downgrade of the firmware ?
Thanks for your help
I found this information on the web. It is from a german site
http://www.seditec.com/seite8.htm. I got the side translated to English
with http://babelfish.altavista.com. I hope you can find it useful. In
a Swedish discussiongroup they are talking alot about firmware and I
will return with more information later. Also the information I got
from there is that all the player are the same but they have different
names. Don't forget to visit http://www.seditec.com/seite8.htm.

Is it on CD, do I have to take out the DVD(rom) player?

Y-tool is a program that help you to make a nice list of your mp3-files
in a easy way. The only problem is that the program is in German but
it's so easy so it doesn't matter. You find the program under VAULT -
