Ok, your firmware is VERY old, which can be the cause of the probs you are experiencing. Unfortunately with such an old firmware it is not upgradeable by CD....

Yes, you'll have dark picture with A2 or 54 firmware or with any other new firmware for CS chipset. Probably, new firmware for CS NON-SCART model NOT exist!...
