As far as I know Intel compiler is available for win32 too (don't know if
it's free).

My opinion (expressed in a mail this list never received, because yahoo is
quite lame) is that you have to forget about dos, and in particular forget
about any OS.
OS is good just to load your demo and give you some buffer's addresses. The
rest must be os-independent.
