I am a beginner photographer, literally. I've taken nothing beyond
disposable snapshots on vacations and things like that.

My friends have told me different advantages of the G and the X (the
older models with the hot shue for the flash are what I want, not the
one included with the flash). I've played around with both and like
'em both.

I'm wondering if you would be so kind as to throw out
opinions/advantages/disadvantages for both.
