Longevity of Lithium Ion Battery packs?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1003 of 1009 |
Hi guys,

I'm a newbie to e-biking and recently purchased a Wilderness Energy
kit to electrify my commuter bike. The kit works fine, but the battery
weighs more that my woodstove... (kidding) The damn thing is 18lbs and
has only 7AH which (just) lugs my 230lb ass the 10 miles to work on
very cold mornings, something we've been having a lot of in Baltimore
here lately.

The Li-ion batteries look extremely promising, but are jaw droppingly
expensive. Does anyone here have any idea how long a heavy beast like
myself could expect to get out of these given the 20 mile per day
round trip before the pack goes belly up? Are they particularly
vulnerable in any way?

Thanks Guys!
