Reef Friends is a coral reef survey and conservation programme run by the Blue Water Volunteers (www.bluewatervolunteers.org). Reef Friends aims to monitor the status of coral reefs of Singapore while increasing awareness through participation and education.

Volunteer divers monitor a total of 9 reefs around the southern islands of Singapore. Coral reef survey methods employed are Reef Check (www.reefcheck.org) fish & invertebrate surveys, and GCRMN Line Intercept Transeect (www.gcrmn.org), with identification of hard corals to genera level, where possible.

Volunteers who wish to join this programme will have to be trained either one of the methods above.

REEF XPLORE!
Xplore! is a local waters dive guiding programme. Volunteer guides are trained to guide divers in exploring the marine life found at the reefs of Pulau Hantu (and, hopefully, Kusu Island in the future).
