In 1998 the FCC re-allocated spectrum in the 764-776/794-806 MHz frequency bands to Public Safety for wireless voice and data communications.
The Region 27, Nevada - Regional Planning Committee (RPC27) has been convened for the purpose of creating a spectrum utilization plan and to manage the new 700 MHz and 4.9 GHz public safety spectrum according to FCC rules and regulations.
All public safety entities within the geographic boundaries of Region 27 are encouraged to participate in the regional planning process.
