Description

The Renewable Energy/Energy Policy list is sponsored by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) to provide an informal forum for news and information about renewable energy technology (wind, solar, biomass, geothermal, hydro). This list is moderated to ensure messages are on-topic. Discussion of free energy systems is not appropriate for this list, and should be pursued elsewhere. AWEA also publishes a free time-delayed edition of its newsletter Wind Energy Weekly. To subscribe to this informative publication, which is now read by more than 4,500 subscribers in over 70 countries, send a blank message to windenergyweekly-subscribe@yahoogroups.com .

Re: Grid tie vs off grid
... You are ever so fortunate!! For me a quote of 3 years ago for 2 poles (10 kVA) was almost $15k for almost a mile with 3 phase (50kVA) was for over $70k.

Re: Grid tie vs off grid
Ok, There you have it. This is the wonderful part about solar PV. It can be a money maker in solar farms, you can do net metering and go totally off grid.

Re: Smart grid is coming and its going to get you!
Can't wait. I expect to save money once I can avoid paying high rates for peak usage and get lower average rates for off peak usage. Arthur

Re: President Obama favors nuclear Power
They should have put both nuclear power plants in Washington. They make good targets. Who cares where they go. I feel that this technology has to be abandoned.

Re: Grid tie vs off grid
... Not necessarily - -it depends upon the amount of your flat fees. Mine are approaching 20% greater than my actual power costs. That changes things rather
