I believe it is still there, in an industrial area in Moonache. It was not
burned. Some of his furniture and his commission as surveryor are still
around....I have photos of them, when someone wanted to sell them- much too rich
for me!

Greetings,
Does anyone have info on the home of captain John Outwater? I am specifically
looking for references to the British raid into Hackensack when some of the
buildings were burned. Was his home put to the torch?
If so how much warning was given? could possesions have been removed such as
furniture or just time to grab valuables and the family bible? Were his family
in residence or would they have already moved out to a safe distance from New
York. If there is any sort of will recorded? Any light that can be shed and
shared is appreciated.
Thank You, Raoul Mallalieu
Dear NJ Militia/Heard's Brigade & Friends,
Just a Reminder,
The NJ Militia Heard's Brigade will be having our November Social
Dance tomorrow, (which was originally planed for the Proprietary House) at the
Abraham Staats House in South Bound Brook, NJ. on Sunday Nov 15th (tomorrow)
from 2 PM to 5 PM.
Featuring the event will be the wonderful musical team of Ridley and Ann
Enslow. It is always a pleasure to dance to live music, especially to the music
of Ridley and Ann. The North River Colonial Dancers will be there as part of
Heard's Brigade and some of the Ridgewood Community School 18th Century English
Country Dancers will be there also. It looks to be a very good time.
Come and enjoy the music and festivities.
$15 in advance...by email confirmation to Janice at jwolk@... or $20 at
the door. Bring a light finger snack to share.
Info regarding the location of the Abraham Staats House can be found at:
