The Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, has awarded a project to
the National Institute of Hydrology Roorkee for preparing a 'Directory of
organizations working in the area of Watershed Management' in the country. The
directory would cover relevant details on the organizations and their
capabilities, and on the projects/important studies related to watershed
development and management (both completed and on-going) undertaken by the
respective organizations. The directory, in both hard copy and soft copy forms,
shall provide a good opportunity for the organizations as well as for the user
departments and agencies interested in such information.

In this context, we endeavour to include various govt. and non-govt.
organizations in the proposed directory. Since your department/ organization is
also actively engaged in the watershed management activities, we request you to
kindly provide us the relevant details of your organization so as to include the
same in the directory. The registration form for providing the information about
your organization is attached. The completed form along with the requisite
details of completed and ongoing projects, technology developed, achievements
etc may please be sent to us preferably by email as attachments, or by post. An
early reply is solicited as the work of compilation of the directory is already
in progress and is to be completed at the earliest possible.

May we also request you to give it wide publicity among the organizations
working in the area of watershed management. This would facilitate preparation
of a comprehensive directory on the subject.
