SELECTION OF PROJECT STAFF THROUGH WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Name of the Projects

Project 1: Groundwater management in Over-Exploited Blocks of Chitradurga and
Tumkur Districts of Karnataka.

Project 2: Groundwater dynamics of Bist-Doab, area, Punjab, Using Isotopes.

Project 3: National Programme on Isotope Fingerprinting of water of India (IWIN)

1. Research Scientist (1-post) for project 3.

Emolument: Rs. 16000/- to 18000/- p.m. (consolidated and under revision at DST
level).
Duration: upto 30th June, 2012 or till termination or completion of the project
whichever is earlier.
Qualification: Ph.D. in any stream of pure & applied science.

2. Research Associate (1-post) for project 2.

Emolument: Rs. 16000/- to 18000/- p.m. (consolidated)
Duration: upto 31st March, 2012 or till termination or completion of the project
whichever is earlier.
Qualification: Ph.D. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Earth Science/ Env. Science or M.E./
M.Tech./ Masters in Hydrology/ Water Resources.

3. Senior Research Fellow (1-post) for project 2.

Emolument: Rs. 14000/- p.m. (consolidated)
Duration: upto 31st March, 2012 or till termination or completion of the project
whichever is earlier.
Qualification: M.Tech./ M.Sc. in any branch of Sciences or BE/ B.Tech. (Civil).

4. Junior Research Fellow (2-post) one for project 1 and one for project 2)

Emolument: Rs. 12000/- p.m. (consolidated)
Duration: upto 31st March, 2012 or till termination or completion of the project
whichever is earlier.
Qualification: M.Tech./ M.Sc. in any branch of Sciences or BE/ B.Tech. (Civil
Engg.).

5. Sr. Technician (1-post) for project 2.

Emolument: Rs. 10000/- p.m. (consolidated)
Duration: upto 31st March, 2012 or till termination or completion of the project
whichever is earlier.
Qualification: Dip. in Engg. with at least 3 years experience in maintenance of
scientific instruments or B.Sc. with PGDCA or equivalent.

General conditions:

1. Maximum 35 years as on the date of interview. Higher age can be consider in
case of Ph.D. and extra ordinary candidates.

2. These posts are purely temporary on co-terminus basis and do not entitle the
appointee to any claim implicit or explicit or any NIH post.

3. Candidate can directly attend the walk-in-interview on 29 June, 2009 at 1000
hours in the Chamber of Dr. Bhishm Kumar, Scientist F, NIH Roorkee alongwith
complete bio-data, passport size photograph and original proof of qualification
and experience.

4. No TA and DA will be paid for attending the interview.

5. Number of posts can be increased or decreased as per the situation at the
time of walk-in-interview.

qualifications (High School onwards giving exam passed, year of passing, Name of

7. Working knowledge of computers is prerequisite. Preference will be given to
the candidates having working experience in Hydrogeology/ Isotopes, Remote
Sensing and GIS environment.
