OBJECTIVE

Being in the 21st century, it is essential that one
should have adequate knowledge of computer. Many
teachers in the colleges may have the interest to know
about the computer applications, but such courses are
not offered in this direction especially, for
engineering teachers

The feature of this two weeks extensive programme is
to introduce the computer software applications in
various fields of engineering to the participants.
This programme consists of tutorials and demonstration
of few computer softwares.

COURSE OUTLINE

· Basics of Computers
· Introduction to Office XP, which includes WORD,
EXCEL, POWER POINT, ACCESS etc.
· Computer Application Softwares including AUTOCAD,
MATLAB, SPSS, GEOMEDIA, GIS & Remote Sensing,
Statistical Data Analysis Softwares, Flash, EPANET,
LIMDEP, LINGO, LINDO etc
· Net Banking, ATM, Railway Internet Booking, Airlines
Booking, Video Conferencing, Website Creation,
e-Library, Networking etc

ELIGIBILITY

The course is meant for sponsored faculty members of
Engineering Colleges/ Technical Universities/ other
Institutions approved by the AICTE. 15% participants
can be from Polytechnics, provided they meet the
eligibility criteria. Professionals working in Private
/ Public / Government Organizations / Industries,
Scientists / Engineers in R&D establishments are also
eligible to apply for participation.

RESOURCE PERSONS

Faculty members from GBPUA&T and the guest resource
persons from other premier Institutions like Indian
Institute of Technology, Roorkee, National Institute
of Technology’s and other reputed software
organisations, R&D institutions like NIH, Roorkee etc
are invited to deliver lectures.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

The G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology
is the first state agriculture university established
in India during the year 1960. It has well established
infrastructures with modern facilities. The university
is located at Pantnagar near to hill station Nainital
and is about 250 kms from Delhi by road. The weather
is cold at Pantnagar during December and stay will be
very much enjoyable in this location, which is rich in
flora and fauna.


The College of Technology is one among the 10
constituent colleges of the university and imparting
technical education with ten departments namely Civil,
Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication
Production, Computer, Post Harvest Process & Food,
Farm Machinery and Power, Soil and Water Conservation,
and Irrigation and Drainage Engineering
COURSE FEE

No course fee will be charged from the faculty members
of AICTE recognized Engineering Colleges /
Polytechnics. Refundable Caution money of Rs. 250.00
is to be paid along with the application in the form
of a draft. The money is refunded, if the candidate
attends the course or is not selected for the course.

A registration fee of Rs. 2000.00 is to be paid by all
other participants in the form of a crossed Demand
Draft towards their non- refundable registration fee,
course materials, mid session tea, snacks etc.
MODE OF PAYMENT
All payments should be made by a crossed demand draft
in favour of “Coordinator, STTP on CA” payable at
Pantnagar on Punjab National Bank (PNB Code No 4446)
or State Bank of India, (SBI Code No 1133) or UCO Bank
(UCO Code No 0678). Payments can also be directly
remitted to Savings Bank A/C No.444600 0100003936 at
any of the CBS branches of PNB or through net banking
transfer.

TA/DA AND ACCOMMODATION

For the participants only from the AICTE recognised
Engineering Colleges/Technical Colleges/Universities/
Polytechnics, to and fro journey TA will be reimbursed
by the shortest route and DA will be paid as per
AICTE-ISTE norms. No TA/DA will be paid for all other
participants. Arrangement will be made to accommodate
all the participants in the IGH guesthouse on twin
sharing basis at University campus on concessional
charges on request.
