Hello! Dear members,
I (Dr. Sridhar Kolluru) am the new member joined in your team/group. I am a post
graduate in Marine Science with marine geology specialisation. I have completed
my Ph.D with a topic 'Multidisciplinary geoscientific studies using spatial
information technologies for integrated water resource management in a typical
semi-arid region of Andhra Pradesh, India from JNTU, Hyderabad.
I am working in the field of development professional related to Hydrology and
Hydrogeology, since the last thirteen years plus. I have been associated with
different action research projects related to surface and ground water
management towards better utilisation. I was also associated with few bi-lateral
projects like NAP and APWELL. At present I am working towards making the water
as a common property (both ground and surface) in making all sections of people
to get access, equal rights in attaining their livelihoods and fulfilling the
minimum common needs. This may need different interventions towards establishing
the ground models towards sharing the water resources in simillar concepts,
campaign towards it, making some efforts in changing the practices at different
levels by the community and by the government through bringing some policy level
changes.
As part of this, I would like to use some of the models and budgetting
techniques during my work. I hope this membership would increase my knowledge
and applicability to the field situations would become better in knowing
different conditions around the world. I am wellversed with remote sensing and
GIS technologies applications in different fields with more involvement in
IWRM.I have very limited knowledge on hydrology especially with reference to big
dams etc., where dynamics of hydrology are more to be understood. This may
enhance my thinking process in serving better to the context relevant.
With this background I am happy that I joined this group in acquiring more
knowledge and sharing different ideas for the better world.
Looking forward for the better...
With warm regards,
Dr. Sri
