Due to the recent rains, the property manager at the Meek Ranch has
given us permission to fly in the large field. A FAA waiver of 5,000
feet with call-ins to 8,000 feet will be in effect.

This field is suitable for all types of rockets with commercial motors
up to and including J impulse. The field consists of several large
cow pastures with foot high grass, no trees and a 1% sloping grade for
good drainage. There are some grass burrs and cow pies, so boots and
long pants are highly recommended. Needle-nosed pliers make removing
grass burrs relatively painless.

A NAR Level 2 and a Tripoli Prefect will be at the launch for anyone
interested in attempting their L1 or L2 HPR certification. NAR forms
will be available, Tripoli members must bring the certification form
that came with their membership pack.

To get to the field from San Antonio, take Interstate Highway 10 West
toward El Paso. Get off at Exit 508 and turn right onto Highway 16
towards Fredericksburg. Go 10 miles. Just past Delaware Creek turn
left onto Alfred Petsch Road. Go 0.6 miles and there will be a
"Rocket Launch" sign on the right side of the road pointing to the
unpaved road leading to the launch site. Please drive slowly and
close any gates that you open.

We plan on having some hot dogs and colds drinks for sale during the
launch. If you want to bring something to throw on the grill, you are
welcome to.

The forecast for Saturday is for partly cloudy, temperatures in the
low 90's and very light winds. Be sure to bring a hat, sun block,
insect repellant and lots of drinking water. There are no restrooms
at the launch site and not too many bushes. :)

We will have 6 model rocket and LMR pads and a 1" launch rail. If you
need something special in the way of launch equipment please let me
know, otherwise bring it yourself.

We are looking forward to a fun, family friendly launch.
