It has come to our attention that a bogus email, originating from rocketryonline.com@... was sent to our users. Earlier today, hackers spent quite a while trying to break into the ROL auctions, in order to deface the site. Unable to do so, they took advantage of a weakness in the user notification system and send out a bogus email, claiming that credit card information had been exposed. Since ROL does not use or accept credit card information, there is no card information to compromise. In addition, the users were unable to access any user data of any kind, but were able to cause the system to send an email to all our users. We apologize for any inconvenience and alarm this may have caused. After several hours of log analysis, we have identified the weakness that the hackers exploited, and have modified the code accordingly. Once again, our apologies. -Kevin & Tim
